Today, we embarked on an exciting journey towards the northeast corner of Iceland, heading towards the breathtaking fjords of
Akureyri, Iceland’s charming northern capital. Along the way, we made a delightful stop at Grabrok Crater, a well-known site in the West Region. We enjoyed stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere.

Next, we visited
Gauksmyri farm, renowned for its beautiful Icelandic horses. We were fascinated by the farm’s horse-themed ambiance and the opportunity to learn about these iconic animals. The farm’s location, halfway between Reykjavik and Akureyri, made it a perfect stopover for us.

Our lunch today was at the
B&S Restaurant Blönduósi and then on to the Glaumbær Turf House

Upon arriving in Akureyri, we had some free time to enjoy lunch on our own, exploring the local cuisine and vibrant atmosphere of the city. After lunch, we joined a guided coach and walking tour to discover the urban charms of Akureyri. The tour allowed us to delve into the city’s history, architecture, and cultural highlights. Finally, we checked into our hotel (Hotel
Kea), ready to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures.
