Early the next morning, we walked to
Café Loki to meet our tour group and guides. After a hearty breakfast, we boarded the tour bus, ready to embark on the next leg of our Icelandic journey.

Our first stop was the town of
Borgarnes and a visit to the Settlement Center.

After lunch on our own, we set out on an afternoon excursion to explore the breathtaking thermal areas of
Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. The sheer force of its geothermal activity was awe-inspiring, and we were fascinated by how it supplies hot water to nearby towns.

Later, we stopped at the
Reykholt Cultural Centre, a historic site dedicated to the life and works of Snorri Sturluson, a renowned Icelandic writer and historian. His residence here from 1206 to 1241 is steeped in history, and we found the exhibitions and insights into his life and contributions to Norse mythology captivating.

Next, we visited the stunning Barnafoss and
Hraunfossar Falls, a series of cascades flowing through an ancient lava field. The natural beauty of these falls was mesmerizing, and we enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere surrounding them.

As the day drew to a close, we gathered at our hotel (Hotel
Húsafell) for a briefing on the exciting journey ahead, followed by a warm welcome dinner. It was the perfect way to begin our Icelandic adventure, filled with anticipation for the wonders that awaited us.
