The third day of our Iceland land tour was filled with excitement and breathtaking landscapes. We started with a delicious breakfast at the Hotel Vik, setting us up for an action-packed day.

First, we visited the
Lava Show in Vik, an experience that left us mesmerized. The show not only provided a fascinating explanation of the lava in the area but also featured an actual lava flow, making it a truly immersive experience. The enthusiasm of the host added to the excitement, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in volcanic activity.

After the lava show, we headed to
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, one of Iceland’s most iconic landscapes. The beach offered stunning opportunities for photography, with its dramatic rock formations and the majestic Reynisdrangar sea stacks. We enjoyed a light lunch while taking in the breathtaking views.

As our last day in Iceland drew to a close, we began our journey back to Reykjavík. However, we decided to take a more scenic route to
Keflavik, turning south at Hveragerði. This route brought us closer to the ocean and led us to the Krýsuvík/Seltún geothermal area. Here, we explored the vibrant colors and steam vents of this unique landscape, feeling as though we had stepped into another world.

We also made a brief stop at
Kleifarvatn, a beautiful lake known for its striking green color. Unfortunately, we couldn’t explore the nearby town of Gindavik due to recent volcanic activity.

Our final destination was the town of Keflavik, where we spent the night at the
Park Inn. The hotel’s convenient location made it an ideal choice for our last night, being close to the airport for our departure the next day. We enjoyed a hearty dinner at the hotel restaurant before retiring to our rooms. The polar day made it challenging to sleep, but the skylight above my bed offered a magical view of the sky.

As we bid farewell to Iceland, we couldn’t help but look forward to our next adventure in this enchanting land.
