The second day of our Iceland land tour began after a comfortable night’s rest at the Berjaya Iceland Hotel in Hofn. We started the day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, setting us up for an exciting day ahead.
Next, we embarked on a thrilling glacial tour with Fjallsárlón Iceberg Boat Tours. The scenic drive from Hofn to Öræfi was breathtaking, offering stunning views of Iceland’s unique landscapes. Upon arrival, we geared up with life vests and cold water survival jackets, ready to explore the icy waters. Our tour guide, a friendly gentleman from Finland, provided an excellent experience, sharing insights into the glacier’s majesty.
Following the tour, we enjoyed lunch at the Frost restaurant, conveniently located next to the tour headquarters. With our energy replenished, we headed to our final destination for the day: the charming town of Vik.
Upon checking into Hotel Vik, we set out to explore this picturesque town. We visited the local cemetery, which offered a panoramic view of Vik and the ocean beyond. A stroll along Víkurfjara Black Sand Beach was a highlight, with its dramatic landscapes providing ample photo opportunities.
During our exploration, we discovered the Lava Show and decided to reserve a spot for the next morning. To cap off the evening, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Restaurant Suður before returning to our hotel.
This day was filled with natural wonders, cultural experiences, and the warmth of Icelandic hospitality, setting the stage for more adventures to come.
