As we traveled back to Reykjavik, the journey took us through the enchanting “saga” country, a landscape steeped in history and the setting of one of Iceland’s famous medieval tales. The scenery felt alive with stories from the past, making the drive both picturesque and thought-provoking.

Upon arriving in Reykjavik, we enjoyed a delightful lunch at a cozy local restaurant, savoring Icelandic flavors. Afterward, we embarked on a city tour of the capital, which is home to more than half of Iceland’s population. The city’s charm unfolded before us, from its colorful streets to its iconic landmarks.

Later in the day, we met with a local expert who shared insights into the 2008 financial crisis and its profound impact on Iceland. It was fascinating to learn how this small nation navigated such a monumental challenge.

For dinner, we had the freedom to explore Reykjavik on our own, allowing us to choose a spot that suited our tastes and reflect on the day’s experiences.
